Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

We have provided information and responses to some of the frequently raised questions for the construction of Twickenham Green. Please get in touch if you have any further questions or queries related to the works.

What are the timescales for works to be completed?

The approximate construction timescales will be as follows:

  • August 2024 – Start of demolition works on site
  • February 2025 – Anticipated completion of demolition and construction begins
  • Summer 2026 – Anticipated completion of first new homes
  • Winter 2026 – Anticipated completion of works
What will the site opening and working hours be?

The site a will be open between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Friday and 7am and 1.30pm on Saturdays.

Works will take place within Richmond Council’s normal working hours for construction, which are 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturday.

No works will take place on Bank Holidays without prior approval from the Council.

How will construction vehicles access the site?

During demolition, primary access to and from the site will be from the entrance on Edwin Road. However occasionally some vehicles will be required to enter via the entrance on the corner of Gould Road and Crane Road.

Is there parking on site for construction staff?

Minimal on-site parking will be available for staff and visitors. There will be no parking for construction workers.

How will you manage dust from the works?

Owing to the nature of the works, the demolition and construction works will create dirt, dust and noise, all of which will be managed and mitigated using best practice methods.

We will use wheel washers, sweeping, dust-suppression and extraction tools, and ensure vehicles are covered when leaving site carrying waste, to help keep the site and local roads clean.

How will you manage noise from the works on site?

Some noise will be unavoidable, owing to the nature of the work, however any noisy works will take place within the approved hours. We will aim to minimise noise by operating machinery away from residential properties where possible, ensuring machinery is switched off when not in use and adopting Best Practicable Means as standard on site.

Will any roads be closed during the works?

We will do our best to limit any road closures or diversions that might affect access to your home and business. Should this occur, it will be for a short period only. We will endeavour to keep any inconvenience to a minimum.

Should temporary road closures be necessary, residents and businesses will be notified in advance.

Will the works affect my home or garden?

Should works be required to a shared wall or boundary with your property, you should have already been contacted by our party wall surveyor.

How do I get in touch with the team?

Should your matter be urgent, please contact us by phone rather than email.

How can residents keep up to date with the plans?

We will be providing regular monthly updates throughout the demolition and construction works, as well as holding further meetings or events

Some updates will be sent as newsletters and distributed door-to-door, but regular updates will be via email to limit unnecessary printing. Updates will be published on our project website.

The easiest way to sign-up for email updates is via the form on our website www.twickenhamgreenconstruction.co.uk or e-mail us londonsquare@cascadecommunications.co.uk
